YOUR WORDS – TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES

Putting Your Words Where They Belong Since 1978

ABOUT US

Whether the task involved generating medical documentation, creating typed minutes from a meeting or conference, transcribing interviews which later become sound bites in a commercial, or sound bites which later became telephone prompts, I’ve been putting words where they belong since 1978.

Your Words is a business borne of various necessity to convert spoken content to typewritten text.

WHAT WE DO

Medical Transcription

“I’m really excited to point and click my way through each patient’s visit,” said no physician, ever!  Without a doubt, when men and women pursue a career in medicine, the tedious generation of their own documentation is probably the last thing they endeavored to achieve.

With the advent of electronic medical records, the provider’s day has become significantly impacted by the time-consuming task of generating medicolegal documentation of every patient’s visit. This must include a thorough recap of what the patient reported, physical exam findings, various other histories, updates to the medications list, a diagnosis and recommendations for a treatment plan.  Your Words allows the medical professional to return their primary focus to patient care, leaving data entry to us.  I tell our physician clients, “You dictate; we’ll point and click…”

We take our responsibility seriously, striving to generate a medicolegal document the physician is proud to distribute. Whether being shared with colleagues, insurance companies, or a copy to the patient, the finished document reflects a professionalism vital to our success, completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Cost

The cost of dictation was once calculated using 65 black and white characters on a page, known as “a line.”  In the electronic medical record, content is placed in defined fields, making it impossible to count characters.  Because of this, Your Words utilizes minutes.  EHR features which pull past information forward tend to lessen the time necessary to fully document follow-up visits.  As in any dictation setting the provider has an ability to manage cost by speaking clearly, concisely, and choosing the most pertinent content.  Your Words is happy to provide cost estimates based on specific needs.

Non-Medical Transcription

Transcribing interview contents.  The transcript was time-stamped sporadically, throughout, then paired with video of the interview.  This resulted in select sound bites (the very best parts of the interview) which were utilized to create commercials for the client’s products.

Voice prompts from credit card and banking institutions were transcribed into spreadsheets and provided as the client’s written reference regarding what customers heard and how they were directed during a call for assistance.

Transcribing Q&A sessions.  Voice recordings made during a question and answer session of a biblical conference were transcribed in a format provided by the client for future book publication.

Transcribing college graduate exit interviews.  A group discussion between professors and a graduate class was transcribed and utilized to review the student’s overall satisfaction with hybrid class structure, internships and externships.

QUALIFICATIONS

Cumulatively, the staff at Your Words has a great many years of experience at the keyboard with backgrounds in hospital settings, physician office, and general transcription services.  A medical transcriptionist is not only very well educated in terminology, anatomy & physiology, pharmacology and numerous specialties and subspecialties, they also have achieved a relative mastery of the English language, grammar, and punctuation.

As part of our profession, we are keenly aware of the importance of following HIPAA guidelines, participating in recertification every two years.  Protecting your privacy extends to non-medical contracts, as well.  Names / businesses are never disclosed for any purpose without written permission.
